This is a multi-cultural team which strived to climb Mount Everest to promote unity, peace and global understanding. Sele's expedition nearly came to an end when he collapsed near the summit of, 8845m, of Mount Everest. It is through a deep instinct to live, teamwork and the grace of God that he survived this ordeal. An 18 men epic rescue by the Expedition leaders, Sherpas and teammates made sure Sele's life was spared. This is the highest Mountaineering rescue in history. Sele narrowly escaped death.
Sele was born and raised in Soweto, South Africa. He completed his schooling in Johannesburg. He then relocated to study at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Sele has a Civil Engineering degree. He is completing his Masters Degree in Financial Mathematics at the University of Cape Town. He currently works as a Risk Manager in the banking industry. Selebelo is currently completing writing a book and he often gives inspirational talks about his escapades. He spends most of his time with family, friends and his college sweetheart, Mamello.
